Still reading the must-reads recs at spnstoryfinders. I don't feel that strongly about "We Were Twenty" as some reccers do but it did introduce me to Philip Levine's beautiful poem "You Can Have It". Some people don't get how I can lose myself on the internet all day. (They are usually the same people who wonder where I found the things I forwarded them.) But the beauty about the internet is that, if you're curious, if you dig a little deeper on one thing, it'll lead you to another thing, or another take, and if you push on, you'll know a whole lot of random things which make it much easier to make connections for most anything, and leads you further to an exponentially increasing number of things to check out, try out or just let them blow your mind away.

It just struck me that Jensen/Jared is like the typical Souya HIMAWARI (日輪早夜) manga - a sunny, younger guy winning the heart of a shy, older guy who's, like, REALLY pretty.

I had no idea BBC Entertainment cut Gwen's kiss with the girl in the second episode and the two kisses between Tosh and Mary. I'm glad I didn't subscribed to BBC Entertainment in my cable package – I've a niggling fear that it would just show the same heavily censored version for all Asian countries.

Have just died reading this Rorschach one-lined porn...

Watchmen is one of the rare books I've read in recent years that really overwhelmed me. I wish I'd gone to the cinema with someone who's read the graphic novel rather than someone who's expecting a live action version of The Incredibles. But anyway...

I really love the opening. "Unforgettable" is just so apt for it. Now I just have to re-read the graphic novel to see if the schmoopiness is too much.  I love the opening credits, which I've already watched a dozen times before going to the cinema. Before Watchmen, I'd only known about the JFK assassination. I wonder if the others in the cinema knew the other scenes were real/refer to real events too. 

And I love the clown joke, which I'd been afraid may not make it into the movie, and which is one of the most emotionally effective scenes here. But the pacing of many other scenes were either too rushed (too much/compressed info-dump - Veidt suffers from this especially) or too dragged out (everything after the TV shows the whole world unites against Dr Manhattan) to have the emotional impact the story deserves. The compression of the psychologist's scenes is a real waste. If only the movie had kept the killing of Rorschah short and sharp, ended right there and given the screen time to flesh out the middle part instead.

Reading thenyxie's Ouroboros, I'm overwhelmed by the picture of Dean doing the Rose Tyler Time Vortex things. Seriously, how cool and how gorgeous would it be if Dean were the antichrist and get to do a glowing god-like trance thing?

I've just gone through all the SPN RPS podfics in the podfic archive and is making my way through the FPS podfics. They're like a short-cut for me now since I have no idea what the must-reads or hall-of-fame in this fandom are. Sometimes I just wish SPN fics are as easy to navigate as the SV fics were...

Is it weird of me to feel Jack Brennan/Richard Nixon vibes in Frost/Nixon?

OMG, OMG, OMG... John Glover! I haven't been so excited about this show for months!
